Equestrian Events Hawke’s Bay
Hawke’s Bay is home to some of the country’s most exciting equestrian pursuits, and Hawthorne House is ideally situated for those who wish to enjoy them.
Hastings Racecourse is just 5 km (3 miles) away. Its Spring Racing Carnival is a highpoint of the equestrian calendar and features three Premier race meetings over a five week period. More information can be found on the Hawke's Bay Racing website.
Hawke’s Bay also hosts the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show, held annually in March. The Kelt Capital Horse of the Year Show has grown to become one of the largest and most prestigious annual Equestrian Events in the Southern Hemisphere. The event attracts competitors in Dressage, Endurance and Show Jumping.

The event is held at the Hawke’s Bay A&P Showgrounds, less than 15min drive from Hawthorne House.
